Pediatric Oncology Ward
At Mary Johnston Hospital in Manila, the Pediatric Oncology Ward supported by Adonai’s Mercy House has become a refuge for children and families walking through the storm of childhood cancer.
Every corner of this ward reflects our mission to bring hope where despair often lingers. Here, children from some of the poorest communities in the Philippines receive critical cancer treatment that would otherwise be far beyond their family’s reach.
But this ward is more than a place of medical care, it is a home of compassion. Each child is embraced not just as a patient but as a precious life, deserving dignity, love, and joy even in the midst of suffering. The ward is filled with the sounds of laughter from volunteers, the quiet prayers of chaplains, and the gentle encouragement of nurses and doctors who pour themselves into their work.
Families find comfort in knowing they are not alone, supported by both the medical team and the programs of Adonai’s Mercy House that extend beyond medicine, nutritional support, creative therapy, spiritual counseling, and a healing garden just outside the doors.
For many parents, stepping into the pediatric ward means stepping into a place of renewed hope. At Adonai’s Mercy House, we believe every child deserves a chance, not only to fight for life but to experience joy, creativity, and the reminder that they are deeply loved. The Pediatric Oncology Ward stands as a daily reminder of this truth: where medicine meets mercy, hope begins to bloom.

Blood & Platelet Program
At Adonai’s Mercy House, we believe that every drop of blood represents life, strength, and hope. For children battling cancer at Mary Johnston Hospital, blood and platelet transfusions are not optional, they are essential for survival.
Chemotherapy and other treatments often weaken their bodies, leaving them vulnerable to dangerous infections and bleeding. Without transfusions, many of our young patients would not have the strength to continue their fight.
Through our Blood and Platelet Program, we partner with generous donors, local organizations, and compassionate volunteers to ensure that these children receive the life-sustaining support they need. Each donation directly impacts a child’s chance at recovery, providing not only physical healing but also comfort to families who otherwise face overwhelming fear and uncertainty.
We also work to raise awareness about the urgent and ongoing need for blood and platelet donations in the Philippines, where supply is often critically low. By mobilizing communities and equipping caregivers, Adonai’s Mercy House helps bridge the gap between scarcity and sufficiency.
This program is more than just medical intervention, it is an act of mercy and love. With every bag of blood, every platelet infusion, and every helping hand, we remind these children and their families that they are not alone in their struggle. Together, we are giving them strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

Medical & Mobility Care
At Adonai’s Mercy House, we recognize that the journey of a child battling cancer or chronic illness does not end at the hospital doors. Many of our young patients face lasting challenges that make daily life difficult without specialized equipment.
Through our Medical and Mobility Support program, we provide children and their families with vital resources such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, hospital beds, oxygen machines, and other essential medical devices. These tools are not luxuries—they are lifelines that restore dignity, mobility, and the ability to live with greater independence.
In the Philippines, where poverty often means that families must choose between food and medicine, the cost of medical equipment is far beyond reach. By stepping into this gap, Adonai’s Mercy House ensures that no child is left stranded in their struggle. A wheelchair may give a child the freedom to attend school or play outside. An oxygen machine can literally provide the breath of life when it is most desperately needed.
But our care does not stop with equipment. We also provide training and guidance for caregivers, equipping them with the skills to use medical devices properly, care for their child safely, and alleviate the physical and emotional burdens of daily life.
Through this program, Adonai’s Mercy House continues to embody mercy in action—restoring mobility, lifting burdens, and giving families the tools they need to walk the difficult road ahead with courage and dignity.

Education & Family Support
Adonai’s Mercy House is committed not only to caring for children once they are sick but also to strengthening families through education, awareness, and empowerment.
We believe that early detection can save lives, which is why we support families by providing access to screenings, information on recognizing early symptoms of cancer and other serious illnesses, and guidance on when to seek medical help.
For those already facing treatment, we walk alongside them with information about different options, helping parents understand the journey ahead, from chemotherapy to palliative care, so they can make informed decisions with courage and confidence.
Beyond medical knowledge, we extend our mission into the home by offering basic education and practical training for mothers, many of whom have had to sacrifice work and income to care for their child.
Through livelihood training programs, we help mothers learn new skills, such as crafting, sewing, food preparation, or small-scale business development, that can provide sustainable income while they continue to support their child’s recovery.
In this way, Adonai’s Mercy House not only addresses immediate medical needs but also empowers families to face the future with dignity, resilience, and hope. We see education as a form of mercy: giving families the tools to protect their children, care for them wisely, and sustain themselves even in the midst of hardship.

Christmas with Cancer
At Adonai’s Mercy House, Christmas is more than a holiday—it is a season of hope, joy, and light in the midst of darkness for children battling cancer and their families.
Through our Christmas with Cancer program, we bring the spirit of the season into the pediatric oncology ward and into the homes of families who often feel forgotten at this time of year. For the children, we provide carefully chosen Christmas gifts that remind them they are loved, valued, and not alone in their fight.
These presents bring smiles to faces often overshadowed by pain and hospital visits, lifting their spirits and giving them moments of pure joy. For the families, we extend the blessing further by providing traditional Noche Buena food packages, filled with the special dishes that make Christmas Eve in the Philippines such a cherished celebration.
In a season where poverty and sickness could easily steal away joy, these simple yet meaningful gifts allow families to gather around the table, share a meal, and experience a moment of normalcy and celebration together.
More than just presents and food, Christmas with Cancer is about restoring hope, reminding families that even in their hardest season, they are surrounded by love and compassion. It is our way of echoing the message of Christmas itself: that light shines brightest in the darkness, and that every child and family deserves to experience joy, peace, and the warmth of community during this sacred season.

Bloom With Grace
Through Bloom with Grace, Adonai’s Mercy House provides a sanctuary for children with cancer and their families—a space where healing happens not only through medicine, but through the nurturing of the soul. The initiative offers creative art therapy, journaling workshops, pottery, photography, and gardening, allowing children to express their emotions, find courage, and rediscover joy amidst their pain. The Healing Garden itself serves as a living symbol of renewal, where each flower planted represents a story of faith and perseverance.
Beyond its physical spaces, Bloom with Grace fosters a community of support that extends from the Philippines to the United States. It connects donors, volunteers, and families through acts of kindness, shared stories, and spiritual encouragement. It reminds everyone involved that grace does not depend on circumstances—it flows through seasons of sorrow and joy alike, teaching us that true beauty often blossoms in the soil of suffering.
In every leaf, every brushstroke, and every child’s smile, Bloom with Grace reflects the heart of Adonai’s Mercy House: to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to those who need it most, showing that with faith and compassion, even in the hardest places, life can bloom again.
